[English]

Objective: Back pain is one of the common diseases in today's societies. The most important causes of this disease are muscle weakness, lack of physical fitness and muscle atrophy. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of resistance training in water on pain and the response of mTOR and AKT proteins in middle-aged men with chronic low back pain.
Methods: 20 middle-aged men with back pain were selected and divided into two experimental groups and a control group by simple randomization. In this study, resistance training in water using noodles, The levels of mTOR and AKT proteins and the level of pain before and after resistance training in water in the two groups were measured and analyzed. The Shapiro-Wilk test was used to examine the normality of the data distribution, the dependent t-test was used to compare the pre-test and post-test in each group, and the analysis of covariance test was used at a significant level (P ≥ 0.05) for comparison between groups.
Results: The results showed that following resistance training in water, mTOR and AKT proteins showed significant changes and the pain level in the subjects improved significantly.
Conclusion: According to the results of the study, it can be said that the improvement in the response of mTOR and AKT proteins causes muscle hypertrophy and improves the quality of life in people with back pain. Therefore, it is recommended that trainers and specialists use this type of training to improve back pain in patients.
